Diabetes Base Camp is a private billing General Practice for people with diabetes and their families (and we welcome those without diabetes too).

Gap payments are $35 for working adults, $20 for kids, students and concession card holders.  Higher rates apply on weekends ($50, $30 respectively).  Full payment (gap plus Medicare) needs to be made at the time of appointment, but instant Medicare rebates can be organised if a Debit Card is handy.

We provide comprehensive and evidence based clinical care, with individualised treatment plans.

About

Diabetes Base Camp is a private billing General Practice for people with diabetes and their families, local residents, and anyone who wants slower, less rushed GP care. We provide comprehensive and evidence based clinical care, with individualised treatment plans.

People with diabetes often find that their GP clinic doesn’t have a firm grasp on the complexities of living with a permanent, time consuming condition that doesn’t follow “the rules”.

Although we are diabetes focused, we are more than happy to see people without diabetes as well.  This is a true general practice.

At Diabetes Base Camp we have a thorough understanding of life with diabetes, and the challenges faced on the daily basis.

We have a special knowledge of the technical side of T1/CFRD in particular, and resources in the community to assist with phone and computer challenges. We are a DIY loop/tech friendly practice.

We embrace all races, genders and sexual orientations. This is a queer and trans safe practice 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️. We believe in the concept of health at any size.

We also hope to make this practice into more than just a medical centre – offering space for workshops, a small museum of diabetes, and a relaxation area.

Respiratory illnesses can be dealt with at the practice, when the current building renovations are finished, we will set up a “respiratory tent” out the back of the building.  Meantime, please wear a mask, and if possible, test for Covid and influenza before attending – these illnesses can be treated via Telehealth.

**Unfortunately we do not have capacity for home visits, but offer Telehealth consultations for existing patients (or new patients with Covid)**
